Head of Economics and Business Studies (Maternity Cover)

Salary information: Inner London (competitive based on skills and experience) with TLR and possible recruitment allowance
Start date: January 2024
Location: Stratford, London - Newham
Contract type: 1 year fixed term , full-time, subject to an enhanced DBS check

We are looking for an organised and dynamic individual to lead our Economics and Business departments. Economics and Business Studies are popular subjects with both taught at A Level and Business Studies, in addition, taught at GCSE. The successful applicant will be confident in their own teaching practice with the skill to further develop the practice of others in our creative setting. Through rigorous and innovative curriculum planning, they will ensure a purposeful learning environment and strong outcomes for all students. .

The successful candidate will be:

  • an excellent teacher and subject specialist with substantial experience and a willingness to teach KS5 Business & Economics along with KS4 Business
  • confident in preparing students for external examination and with a track record of securing strong outcomes for students in external exams 
  • a leader of people who can empower those they manage to set high standards for themselves, the teachers and students in their care
  • an organised and committed individual
