Welcome back!
A warm welcome to all students, families, and staff as we begin the new academic year at School 21. Whether you're joining us for the first time or returning after the summer break, we’re excited to start this new academic year together.
We’re especially pleased to welcome our new Reception, Year 7, and Sixth Form students. They’re already settling in well and showing great energy and enthusiasm. And last year’s Year 6 and 11 students achieved impressive SATs and GCSE results, giving the school its second consecutive year of improved grades. Full results will be published in due course.
As a through school, School 21 has smaller primary and secondary cohorts than many other schools in the area, allowing staff and students to build strong relationships. This year, we continue our focus on ‘Head, Heart and Hand’ in all aspects of our curriculum. Alongside our focus on cross-curricular academics, there will be exciting projects, performances, and enrichment opportunities. Going forward, we'll send out a newsletter at the start of each month, sharing key dates and opportunities for you to be involved in your child’s education.
We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead, working in collaboration with our families to support every student.

Primary learning at home
Homework is uploaded to Seesaw each Friday and will usually consist of maths, english and spelling. Each child has been given a Seesaw login. If you have any problems accessing this, please ask your class teacher. Parents are welcome to explore Seesaw and see what their child is learning in class.
Daily 5-minute practice on TTRS is recommended to help pupils master their times tables. At the end of the school year, Year 4 will take the statutory Multiplication Tables Check. Each child has been given a TTRS login. If you have any issues accessing it, please contact your class teacher. (The TTRS app needs to be installed on your device.)

Primary Reading
Primary students visit the library weekly to choose a book at their reading level. They can enjoy it at home, take the Accelerated Reader (AR) quiz, and return it the following week. Use the QR code to access AR. The login is your child’s name and first initial of their surname (e.g. ameliav) and the password is school21.

Allergies
We are a nut-free school. Any snacks brought into school should be healthy and not contain nuts.
Healthy breakfast at home
We encourage families to provide children with a healthy breakfast, such as wholegrain cereal, fruit, yoghurt, or eggs. A balanced breakfast helps children to have energy, stay focused, and be ready to learn.
Uniform
At School 21 we have high standards for our uniform and all children are expected to wear the uniform with pride. For reference here is a link to our uniform requirements https://school21.org.uk/uniform
We make uniforms as accessible as possible by asking for good condition, clean, pre-loved items to be donated to the school so they can be worn by another child. If you have any uniform items then please drop them off at reception. They will be sorted and made available to families in the playground.
Please ensure that all uniform items are clearly labelled with your child’s name. We also ask for water bottles to be labelled. With the rainy season approaching, please ensure your child brings a labelled waterproof coat.
Reporting Absence
If your child is unwell or unable to attend, please call the school office on 020 8262 2121 or email [email protected] before 8:30am.
