Admission into Reception & Year 7
If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, you will need to apply for a reception class place in an infant or primary school for September 2025.
Year 7 admissions will be made up of children moving up from the primary phase together with external admissions.
If your child lives in Newham you will need to apply via London Borough of Newham. But if your child lives outside Newham, you will need to apply through the local authority in the borough you live in.
Remember, you must always apply for a place, even if your child:
- Already attends the nursery of your preferred school OR
- They have a brother or sister who attends the school
The London Borough of Newham manages the admissions process for School 21 and our current published admission number is 75 per year group. The borough’s website has a range of resources and information regarding school admissions. Please click on the relevant links below.
Admissions policy
We are a non-selective, state-funded school serving children of all abilities. We have a fair admissions policy in line with other Newham schools. Places will be allocated to those who live nearest to the school as well as of course providing for those with a Statement of Educational Need and those who are in the care of a Local Authority. Priority will also be given to siblings.
In-year admissions
If you want to apply for a primary or secondary school place at School 21 once the school year has started, you must complete and submit an in-year school admission application.
