Project Based Learning

In order to add greater depth to a creative curriculum, elements of our curriculum design encourage children to participate in inquiry based projects that work towards the larger goal of answering a central question, solving a problem or meeting a challenge.

We firmly believe that helping young people to feel empowered, find their voice and develop the skills needed to make the changes they want to see in their community is vital. That’s why we joined the Citizens UK Newham Alliance with 23 other organisations, 8 of them local schools, to build collective power, locally rooted, to tackle problems together. Our students have been working on projects with the Living Wage Foundation, supporting students to build their own capacity in creating change.

Recently, students have also been involved in a participatory action research project with University College London. The focus has been on Ofsted reform – leading with the student experience of how Ofsted impacts them and their teachers/schools.
