Children also have an independent reading session using this book at the end of the week. Across the sessions, the reading VIPERS are explicitly taught as well as embedded organically throughout the cycle of the texts. Children are re-benchmarked at the end of each half term and regrouped accordingly. Each half term, children will study fiction and non fiction texts. In addition to this, the class PAC reads 1-on-1 with each child each week.
