A big ‘Thank you’ to everyone who came to our first Community Connection event this year on 19th September. We were particularly impressed with people’s dedication to completing the School 21 Trail around the site! It was brilliant to see you all, and we look forward to welcoming you to school again soon.

West Side Story Auditions (Year 5 – Year 13):

We are extremely excited to launch this year’s School 21 Musical ‘West Side Story’!

Auditions are happening next week:

  • Year 5-8 Ensemble: New Hall on Wednesday 27th September 3:30 – 5pm
  • Year 9-13 Ensemble: New Hall on Thursday 28th September 3:30 – 5pm
  • Recall for Lead Roles: New Hall on Friday 29th September 3:30 – 5pm

If students are interested in auditioning for a Lead Role, they must attend the Ensemble audition detailed above. If that audition is successful, they will then be invited to the Recall Auditions. THIS WEEK AT SCHOOL 21:

Reception

This week, the children in Reception have been getting used to their new school, exploring with curiosity and excitement. We have started to make friends with each other and play lots of different games and activities. We are starting to learn how to read and write our names, and join in with singing and story times.

Year 1

Kare Adenegan class did marvelous maths this week! We have been learning our number binds to 10. We believe challenge makes us grow 💪!

Year 2

This week for English in Year 2 we have been working super hard to complete our innovated Ebo stories. We have edited and redrafted our work, making sure we include adjectives, adverbs and expanded noun phrases. We are so proud of our Year 2 students writing!

Year 3

Year 3 have very busy this week and enjoying focusing on artwork for our Values project in the afternoons. They're designing stickers to celebrate our value of Responsibility that will be used throughout the school. They were kind, specific and helpful when they were giving feedback to each other on their designs. Well done!

Year 4

This week in Year 4, we have been designing our own Otto butterflies to create a set of openness stickers. To help us develop our designs we gave constructive feedback to the other class. We will use this feedback to improve our designs ready for our stickers to be made!

Year 5

Ellie Simmonds' Year 5 class delved into flower dissection today! They identified all the parts, including the male and female structures. Hands-on science in action!

Year 7

Our Year 7 students are off to an impressive start this year. They've seamlessly transitioned to their new classes, showing great enthusiasm and adaptability. To celebrate their achievements as well as getting to know their new coaches, we treated them to an unforgettable trip to Chessington World of Adventures. They embraced the adventure, from thrilling rides to zoo encounters, all while learning beyond the classroom. Looking ahead, we're excited about the potential Year 7 holds. Stay connected, and let's make this year one of growth and success!

Year 9

In our opening week of starting the academic year, Year 9 have been exploring Identity through coaching. Deepening our self confidence in who we are while widening our understanding of others. Great openness from Year 9. Well done all!

Year 11

This week in maths, Year 11 used trigonometry to work out missing side lengths and angles. Well done to Ria, who has been smashing through the work!

Real World Learning Launched

Students in year 12 began their Real World Learning journey on Tuesday. They explored their aspirations, skill-sets and personal strengths and then looked how this applied to the world of careers. Some of the activities they engaged with are below.
