Our School 21 Music Department has been named ‘Outstanding School Music Department’ at the Music & Drama Education Awards 2024! The School 21 Music team were announced as winners at a ceremony at the London Mariott Hotel on 22nd February 2024.
The Music & Drama Education Awards celebrate “the extraordinary contribution made by professionals, schools, companies, charities and other organisations to the lives of others through the medium of these two key performing arts”.
The School 21 Music Department based in Newham, East London, runs a vibrant, innovative 4-18 music curriculum that transcends the classroom. This includes our pioneering band project ensemble programme, annual musical, instrumental lessons and community projects. When announced as the winner’s of this year’s award, the music department was described as a “beacon of musical excellence” in the community and praised for the “exceptional quality and variety of its provision”.
