Year 6 Tea Party Concert

Our Year 6 students are excited to host this year’s Tea Party Recital event as part of our Band Project curriculum programme, and Year 6 parents and carers are invited to come along. This term, the students have been working in small ensembles and have selected their own pieces to prepare and perform for you at this event. They have been developing their independent rehearsal skills as well as their mastery and ensemble skills, and have received music coaching from our instrumental teachers as well as their classroom music teachers.

Event logistics

Date: Thursday 21st March Time: 3:45pm – 5:30pm (students do not need to be collected at 3.30pm on this day, and will be supervised throughout the event. They can be collected via their normal classroom at the end of the event) Location: The New Hall- School21 (entry to the event for guests is via the front office at 3.45pm)

Refreshments: We invite and encourage students to bring in homemade cakes that can be shared with the audience and their fellow students at the end of the concert. Individually cased cakes are preferred over larger cakes to avoid the need to cut them during the concert. These should be brought in within a secure container on the morning of Thursday 21st March, and will be stored safely in the home classrooms until the afternoon. Please do not bring in anything that might easily melt or that will perish within a few hours. Cakes must not contain nuts.

Ramadan: We are aware that the event this year falls during the fasting period for those observing Ramadan. Children and families fasting during the day are welcome to take cakes home to enjoy later in the evening, and cakes will be kept at the back of the hall so they are not overly visible. We will also be mindful of the childrens’ stamina in these cases, and build in appropriate breaks to support them during the day and the event.

Attendance: We expect all children in Year 6 to attend the event, however, if you do have any concerns with attendance, it is important you contact us to arrange a call by the end of next week (1st March) so that we can discuss this with you. Please email [email protected] if this is required. Participation in these educational moments is fantastic community building and creates learning opportunities for everyone.

Tickets: Entry to the event is free (donations of cake are welcome but not compulsory), however there will be a limit of two tickets per child to ensure we can accommodate everyone in the hall safely. Please allocate on the google form how many tickets you will need. If further spaces are available we will send a message out on Reach More Parents (Weduc) during the week of the concert.

Google Form: Please complete the form here by Friday 8th March to confirm your child’s attendance and the number of tickets you require: https://forms.gle/bozSjGpcVYxTW2xA7
